Amber Chong

Amber is originally from Bendigo, Victoria. She has graduated with the University of Melbourne, studying a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Classical Performance, Piano, with the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, and has studied under acclaimed international pianists Gintaute Gataveckaite and Christopher Wayne Smith. She has prepared masterclasses for Olga Kharintonova, Igor Machlak and Belinda Reid. She studied under PhD candidate and accomplished Australian and international pianist Coady Green.

Amber is an experienced instrumental and music teacher, teaching for over six years. She has been employed by Creek Street Christian College as a piano, vocal and music theory teacher, as well as teaching from her home studios in Bendigo and Glen Waverley.
Amber is currently the head vocal coach for Creek Street Christian College's production of Mary Poppins Jnr and is coaching students weekly in preparation.

She also has accompanied singers in rehearsals: solo, and for the Australian Youth Choir at age 12, played in theatre, as well as performing as an ensemble and solo artist in various locations such as the Melbourne Recital Centre, Melbourne Town Hall, Woodend Winter Arts Festival, Hanson Dyer Hall and Federation Square. She greatly enjoys collaborating with other musicians and artists.

Amber's approach is relaxed, friendly and motivating. She works with students to achieve their goals and believes in encouragement and kindness. She incorporates many different teaching elements gathered from her past studies, such as kinaesthetic games, memory and analogies to explain technique and approach.

Amber is currently studying a Masters in Education (Secondary) with Christian Heritage College, receiving an Education Scholarship. She is working as a teacher's aide in Casey alongside teaching her students.
