Hi, I'm Brian, and I'm completing my Master of Music (Performance) degree at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, studying with Professor Konstantin Shamray. I began piano lessons at the age of six, studying with Prof. David Lockett AM on a single-study scholarship from age eight at the University of Adelaide. In 2015, I was offered a full scholarship place at the renowned Purcell School in London, where I studied with Patsy Toh and later received a British Government scholarship to support my music studies. I’m looking to take on 6-7 students in my private studio. Send me a text message if you’re interested! Love for music is not innate, but with proper guidance, students certainly appreciate the music in a non stressful environment! I also perform regularly :) This is a link below to my performance of rachmaninoff’s third piano concerto: https://youtu.be/jPfMlPO2fvY?feature=shared
Whilst teaching and performing are different skills innately, I hope this demonstrates my level as a pianist. Ive been taught by the best piano teachers in the world and participated in many master classes with stellar pianists like Patsy Toh, Tamas Ungar, David Lockett, Glenn Riddle, and study with an international piano competition winner, Konstantin Shamray. I've won numerous events and scholarships, as well being lucky enough to have performed at venues like Milton court, and Hamer hall. I’ve tried to be as reasonable as possible with pricing. I believe that for 95 an hour, you will receive steadfast guidance from me as a teacher, but also performer. As proof of my qualification; I've listed accolades below:
Semi-finalist Singapore International piano Competition, 2023
Frederick Harlock Scholarship, 2022
First prize in the Boroondara Concerto Competition, 2022
First prize in the Theme and Variations Foundations Award, 2022
First prize in the University of Melbourne Concerto and Aria Competition, 2021
First prize in 3MBS's 'The Talent,' 2021
First prize in the Melbourne Recital Centre Great Romantics Competition, Elisabeth Murdoch prize, 2020
