School Band Direction / Conducting

I am a brass teacher and performer with extensive experience (25 years) of playing all styles of music - classical, jazz, brass band, big band, orchestra, pop/soul. My performance CV is available on my website.

I teach all brass instruments with my main areas of teaching being trombone, bass trombone and euphonium. I also teach trumpet, baritone horn, tuba and sousaphone. All lessons take place at my home studio in Thornleigh.

Alongside my busy private teaching studio, I also teach at Knox Grammar School, Barker College and St. Joseph's College (Joeys).

I was awarded "Top 5 Most Outstanding Private Teacher"
by AMEB NSW in 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2025, and WINNER of the award "Most Outstanding Private Teacher (Preliminary to Grade 6) Brass & Percussion" in 2024.

I am a certified graduate of the ABODA Jerry Nowak Conducting course and am currently the Musical Director of the band program at Normanhurst West Public School, Hornsby Heights Public School, and Pennant Hills Public School.

Lessons are tailored towards the needs of the individual student and all aspects of teaching are covered from technique and theory to working on specific material for band or exams. I am a registered AMEB teacher and can coach and advise on all aspects required for examination.
