Frances Cameron

I teach piano, songwriting and composition for beginners through to advanced students.

I’m a pianist and composer with a deep passion for helping others connect with music in a meaningful and creative way. I hold an A.Mus.A (Piano) and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Tasmania, and alongside teaching, I compose and perform my own solo piano works.

My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each individual. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a more experienced player, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow with confidence. Alongside technique and repertoire, I enjoy incorporating music theory, improvisation, and composition—encouraging students not just to play music, but to understand and create it.

I believe music should feel expressive, personal, and joyful. My goal is to nurture creativity and a lifelong appreciation for music in every student.

Lessons take place in my home studio in Newstead and follow the school term calendar. Sessions are typically 30 minutes (ideal for beginners), with the option to extend to 60 minutes.
