Georgie Bolton

Hello!

I'm a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University/QAEMT’s Bachelor of Musical Theatre Program. I am currently teaching privately out of my home studio in Oxley, and rent a room once a week (currently a Thursday afternoon) at CAPA in Wishart.

I specialise in coaching for tertiary auditions for Musical Theatre and Acting. I have successfully coached longterm students to acceptance to full-time and tertiary courses in Musical Theatre and Acting, including the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) at the National Institute for Dramatic Arts (NIDA), the Bachelor of Musical Theatre at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), and the Bachelor of Musical Theatre at the Queensland Conservatorium/Griffith University QAEMT, the Pre-Tertiary Program at QAEMT and the Diploma of Musical Theatre at Queensland College of Dance, in addition to countless professional roles in stage and screen. I also work with lots of Acting and Dance/Ballet students and graduates on developing their Singing and Acting for potential careers in Musical Theatre.

I am always happy to take on younger students with and without professional aspirations - this is just to make clear I am well-placed to assist with these particular goals.

Above all else I strive to form a supportive and productive relationship with my students, to help them thrive and love what they are studying, whether their aspirations are a professional career, skill development or simply for their own enjoyment. I strongly believe that a fun, tailored and safe environment is the only one in which successful learning can take place. I pride myself on adapting my teaching to the student in the room with me- not by applying a one size fits all approach. In addition to helping my students become more confident and technically proficient, I have experience in preparing students for both Trinity and AMEB exams to a very high standard.

My professional performance experience includes playing Jan in the national tour of Grease: The Arena Experience and originating the role of Rex Connor in the Australian premiere of The Dismissal in Sydney for Sydney Theatre Company. I have appeared on screen in US productions for NBC and Universal/Matchbox Pictures in guest roles, and I am currently playing Judy McGill in God's Favourite Idiot on Netflix.
