Harrison Young

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Performance on Double Bass at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. I am the 2025 Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellow and a 2026 Australian Chamber Orchestra Emerging Artist. I've been a casual musician with professional orchestras including the Sydney Symphony, Tasmanian Symphony, ACO (including guest principal), and Camerata - Queensland's Chamber Orchestra. I've also been involved in the Australian Youth Orchestra’s seasons since 2023, was a member of the orchestra on the Sydney Conservatorium’s 2022 European tour, and performed with Camerata QCO as soloist in my own composition. My compositions for bass ensembles are regularly commissioned by the Big Brisbane and Toowoomba Bass Days.
I aim to make lessons fun and engaging for players at all levels, and focus on a combination of detailed and solid technical skills with creativity and musicality that makes learning an instrument fun.
