Guitar Lessons

About me:
My name is James Emerson and I am a guitarist, performer and teacher based in the lower mountains. While studying at the Australian music, I was privileged to study and learn from some of Australia's most prolific guitarists. Some of which include Jeremy Sawkins and Mark Johns. I specialize in teaching Jazz, Blues and Rock guitar, and in particular, improvisation techniques. Over the years, I have developed my own methods and approaches to teaching guitar. My main goal was to provide students with the knowledge that I have found most useful as a player and as a performer; A strong foundation of basic music theory, ear training and development, sound/tone, time, technique and creativity. I welcome all levels of ability and age, but specialize in teaching those who are intermediate through to advanced. I hold a current working with children check number which can be provided upon request.

• Range of styles; Pop, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Funk, Metal, Country, Folk, Slide Guitar, Chord melody
• Music Theory and Aural Training
