Introduction to violin for little people

Little musicians aged 3–6 and their grown-ups are invited to 'Me & My Violin: First Steps', a playful introduction to violin and classical music for preschoolers. This isn’t your typical music class. Through interactive games and activities, children learn real violin-readiness skills, like standing tall, nimble fingers and bow control. Then they dance and imagine along to classical music. Is it pirates? Fairies? Busy bees? No violin is needed, and all equipment is provided.

The series is presented by Petersham local Jane Cormack, a violinist and teacher who has been playing since she herself was four. Her program is designed to spark an early love of music before formal lessons, so children feel excited and confident when they’re ready to start. Places are limited, so bookings are essential.
