Jenna Yee

Hello, I’m Jenna, a violinist, pianist, composer, and producer with over 15 years of experience. I hold an ATCL in Violin (= AmusA) and an ABRSM Grade 8 Piano (= AMEB Grade 8) and am a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Teaching has been a major part of my career, and I have worked with students of all ages (children and adults) and skill levels in local schools across Hong Kong and Sydney. I also have experience teaching visually impaired students, adapting lessons to their individual needs. My goal is to help students build strong technique, develop their musicality, and gain confidence in their playing.

Beyond teaching, I have performed with ensembles such as the Hong Kong Youth Strings (HKYS) and participated in masterclasses with Mr. Charles Castleman and Mr. Wong Fu Tong. As a composer and producer, I create music across a variety of genres, from R&B and funk to classical and experimental, with my works commercially published and performed by orchestras such as the Sydney Youth Orchestra (SYO) and the New Music Ensemble of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. You can also find my music in some local/international films and games.

I am passionate and flexible in teaching, and I am always willing to teach students regardless of their purpose in learning music. I can teach to perfect an exam (AMEB or ABRSM), play students’ favourite tunes, or even compose students’ very own songs, ranging from classical to jazz to pop! I speak Cantonese, English and Mandarin.

I’m currently learning trombone as a complete beginner, so I know first-hand what it feels like to start from scratch. I’d love to swap tips and learning experiences with students, and if you play brass yourself, I’m always happy to exchange knowledge!

I am looking forward to starting to learn with you!
