Jordan Dunster

I am a Melbourne-based drummer and educator offering personalised drum lessons from my studio in Brunswick East. Specialising in jazz, improvisation, world music, pop, rock and R&B, I work with students of all ages and experience levels, helping them develop strong technique, musicality, and a deeper understanding of rhythm.

I hold First Class Honours in Jazz and Improvisation from the University of Melbourne, where I undertook advanced studies in performance, ensemble direction, composition, and contemporary music practices. My teaching approach combines technical development with creativity and practical musicianship, tailoring lessons to each student's individual goals and interests.

Alongside teaching, I maintain an active career as a professional performer and recording artist. I am a member of Melbourne fusion-jazz ensemble Krakatau and the touring drummer for Jack J, performing at major festivals, and national tours throughout Australia. Over the past five years, I have performed and recorded with a wide range of local and international artists across jazz, indie rock, and contemporary music settings.

Whether you're a beginner learning the fundamentals or an experienced drummer looking to expand your skills, my aim is to provide engaging, supportive lessons that help you grow as a versatile and confident musician.
