Max Koria
Multi-instrumentalist, Producer, Arranger & Music Tutor
My name is Max Koria, I am a 36-year-old practicing musician with a deep passion for sound and education. I graduated from the Jazz and Contemporary Music department of a music college in Russia, which provided me with a solid academic foundation that I’ve since applied to years of stage and studio work.
I have extensive performance experience across a vast range of genres and ensembles—including Lollypop Lorry, Nuggers, Kickin' Jass Orchestra, and the Surfcoast Big Band. My musical journey has taken me everywhere from symphony orchestras to punk rock bands, giving me a unique perspective on how music works in different contexts.
Since 2020, I have been teaching music to students of all ages, from young children to seniors. I believe in a highly individualized approach: my goal is to identify and nurture each student's unique strengths so they can truly enjoy the process of making music. My lessons are a blend of theory, music history, and hands-on practice.
I aim to empower my students to develop independently. To achieve this, I offer a diverse range of paths—from classical notation and sight-reading to improvisation and music production using DAWs (like Ableton Live). I strive to make every lesson engaging and inspiring because, above all, music should be a source of joy and personal enrichment.
