Piano Lessons

Hi, my name is Misaki. I am incredibly excited to reopen my home piano studio after having my baby boy who is now 9 months old. I have an extensive background as a piano performer, and I am also an experienced educator in both home, classroom, and other school settings.

My qualifications include a degree in Piano Performance (1st class honours) through the University of Queensland.
Following are some of my performance highlights:

Guest performer at the Tyalgum Music Festival
Cecchetti ballet pianist
Piano accompanist at the University of Queensland, Australian Girls' Choir, AMEB examinations and more
In addition to being an extensive performer, I have been a private piano teacher in state and private schools since 2005. I advocate a warm and friendly teaching style that foster individuality, creativity and a love for music where students learn to play the piano through note reading, sound imitation, and improvisation. My background as a classroom teacher and solid understanding of teaching and learning make my lessons structured and goal orientated. I enjoy assisting students make goals that are tangible and achievable, to make each lesson worthwhile.

I am also:

Thoroughly experienced with preparing and submitting students into AMEB examinations.
Able to teach in English and Japanese.
Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss what your child's/your piano journey could look like!

Happy to travel within Salisbury.
