Composition lessons

Hi, I'm Riley and am currently studying my Bachelor of Music Composition at the Melbourne Conservatorium. I completed my VCE in 2023 with a 96.3 and raw scored 43 in VCE Music Composition. My folio work was selected to be performed at Top Class Sounds (VCAA Seasons of Excellence).I have experience tutoring in both musical and academic fields (Mathematics) for 3 years.

I offer 30-60 minute lessons, either in-person or online where I teach fundamental compositional skills including melody writing, how to harmonise and write accompaniment to a melody, diatonic/functional harmony, voice leading, writing in different forms (binary/ternary, sonata, rondo, theme and variations, etc), instrumentation and how to write for specific instruments, and how to create scores in music notation software.
