Whether you’re a complete beginner, a karaoke lover, an aspiring artist, or a seasoned performer wanting to level up — Shimona helps singers build the one thing that changes everything: voice confidence.
Shimona is a versatile vocal coach, live performer, and recording artist with over 20 years of experience across pop, folk, jazz, musical theatre, classical, a cappella, and barbershop harmony. Her career began after winning the Singapore nation-wide TV singing competition The Big Break, and since then she has performed internationally, released original music including Simply Shimona and A Walk With My Shadow, and built a reputation for being both technically skilled and emotionally expressive as a singer.
But what students love most is her teaching.
Shimona combines her background in education and psychology with a deeply personalised coaching style that adapts to you — your personality, your goals, your learning style, and your unique voice. No cookie-cutter lessons. No “one method fits all.”
She’s especially known for helping singers who feel:
Lessons focus on building strong technique and helping you feel comfortable, expressive, and confident using your voice in real life — whether that’s on stage, in the studio, at auditions, in a choir, or just finally nailing your favourite songs without second-guessing yourself.
Students work on:
Shimona teaches singers aged 8 to 80+, from absolute beginners to recording artists and performers. She creates a supportive, down-to-earth environment where students feel safe to experiment, grow, and actually enjoy singing again.
Based in Parkwood, Gold Coast QLD, Shimona teaches both in-person and online lessons.
