Latin Percussion Lessons

Steve Forss is an experienced drum teacher that is giving affordable drum lessons in the western suburbs.

My name is Steven Forss and I am a professional drummer and percussionist, with 15 years playing experience. I have 7 years teaching experience, teaching students between the ages of 7-30. I aim to create a fun learning environment that keeps students engaged and interested in drumming and music.

I have a studio set up at my house in Hoppers Crossing or I am happy to travel to you.

I am also teaching lessons online using Skype, Zoom or Google Hangouts.

For younger students I aim at getting them playing along to a song within the first lesson. The aim of beginner lessons is get the student excited about playing music.

For more advanced students I have a wealth of knowledge from my playing and studying experience. I have access to many different texts on various different subjects and styles.

I am experienced in playing many different styles. I have played with many bands playing various musical styles at some of the countries best live music venues. I specialise in funk, heavy metal and afro-cuban / latin musical styles.

I have studied music formally in Melbourne based education institutions. I have also studied abroad, having visited Cuba twice to study Cuban rhythms. I have also studied in Argentina, Brazil and Peru.
