Susannah Ng

With over 25 years of experience as both a dedicated teacher and professional performer, Susannah Ng offers violin lessons grounded in a strong technical foundation and enriched by real-world performance practice. Her teaching approach combines disciplined technique with expressive, performance-based training, helping students develop confidence, musicality, and artistry at every level.
Melbourne-born violinist Susannah Ng has built an extensive international career, performing across Europe, Asia, and Australia. She has appeared at major festivals including the Melbourne International Festival, as well as leading European events such as the Lowlands, Uitmarkt, and Prinsengracht Festivals in the Netherlands. Her studies began at the Victorian College of the Arts under Spiros Rantos and Miwako Abe, before continuing in London with Yossi Zivoni and Amsterdam with Olga Martinova.
As a performer, Susannah has collaborated with renowned ensembles including the Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Malando Tango Orkest, and musicians from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic, and Rotterdam Philharmonic. In Australia she has held a permanent position with Orchestra Victoria, performed extensively with the Melbourne, Tasmanian and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras including Melbourne Chamber Orchestra and the historically informed performance genre of Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra.
As a teacher of violin and viola, mentor and coach in orchestral and chamber music, she has been on staff at Monash University, Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance, Camberwell Grammar School, Korowa Anglican Girls’ School and more recently in 2025 and 2026, Glen Waverly Secondary College and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College. In recent years her work as a teacher and performer has included participation with National Music Camp and Australian Youth Orchestra and Melbourne Youth Orchestra.
Susannah brings this breadth of experience directly into her teaching, offering students unique insight into orchestral playing, chamber music, and solo performance. Her lessons are tailored to each individual, whether preparing for exams, auditions, or personal enjoyment, with a focus on building solid technique, stylistic awareness, and a lifelong love of music.
