Cello Lesson

Cello Lessons in Ivanhoe!

Hello! I’m Wendy, a professional cellist and cello teacher based in Ivanhoe, and I’m currently taking on new students!

I have 17 years of cello playing experience and 8 years of teaching experience, and I’ve taught students of many different ages and levels. Whether you’re completely new to the cello, learning for fun, preparing for an AMEB exam or VCE, or looking to improve your playing, I’d love to help!

I have experience teaching through AMEB, Suzuki and traditional approaches, as well as both individual and group lessons. I’ve also worked at several music schools and schools in Melbourne and New Zealand.

I originally come from New Zealand and moved to Melbourne in 2020 after receiving a scholarship to study at the University of Melbourne. I have completed my Bachelor of Music Performance, Bachelor of Music with Honours, and Master of Music Performance Teaching, and I am currently undertaking a PhD in Music Performance at the University of Adelaide.

Most importantly, I want my students to enjoy playing the cello!

Everyone has different goals, so I’m happy to tailor lessons to what you want to achieve — whether that’s playing your favourite songs, working towards an exam, preparing for VCE, or simply learning a new instrument as a hobby.

I’ll work with you and support you throughout your cello journey, whatever your starting level may be. Beginners, children, teenagers and adults are all welcome!
