Piano Lessons

Hi there, I am a piano teacher based in Naarm (Melbourne), holding a Bachelor of Music, Honours, and a Master of Music (Research) in Piano Performance from the University of Melbourne, where I studied under the guidance of Professor Ian Holtham. During my studies, I received almost all the awards that the Conservatorium had to offer, including the Ormond Exhibition in Music, Pearis Rodger Scholarship, Frederick Harlock Scholarship, and Grace Funston Scholarship, each of which I was honoured to receive twice.

I believe that every student is a musical being with the potential to find joy and meaning in making music. Therefore, I see my responsibility as cultivating a learning space where students can explore music with curiosity and joy, and discover their own meaningful relationship with it. When teaching younger beginners, my approach is crucially informed by the Suzuki philosophy, with a particular emphasis not only on internalising the language of music through listening but also on promoting family involvement as an essential part of the ongoing support that sustains young students’ musical engagement.

I am also an experienced piano accompanist with extensive involvement in examinations and auditions. My collaborative approach in rehearsals helps students refine their musical understanding and develop stronger ensemble skills, leading to greater confidence in their performances.
