Jackie Hempshall

Hi, I’m Jackie — a drum teacher, performing musician, and social worker based in Melbourne. I play regularly around the city and love sharing my passion for rhythm, creativity, and self-expression through drumming and electronic music production.

I teach both acoustic and electronic drums, with a special focus on electronic styles and creating music with Ableton Live, Reaper and Ipad applications as well as synthesis and sound design. My lessons are centered on exploration and fun — whether you’re building confidence, improving technique, or learning to create your own sound.

I’m passionate about improvisation and using music as a way to connect, express emotions, and grow personally. With my background in social work, I’m also especially interested in supporting students through performance anxiety and helping them find confidence in themselves and their music and art.
